Hello neighbors!
The Alvo Community Improvement Association's Farewell to Summer Block Party was a success! The kids had a blast and provided our community with some fantastic artwork to brighten up our days, everyone had plenty of cold watermelon and lemonaide to cool off with, the kids all got a lesson in how to Stop, Drop, and Roll from Eagle Alvo Fire and Rescue, and we were even visited by deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's office. Thank you to our community members who came and shared smiles, the volunteers who made it possible, and everyone for coming to such a welcoming first time event!
The Alvo Community Improvement Association was created to not only host events in our Village like this, but also to build relationships that rural Nebraskans pride themselves on. Our mission is to improve community sustainablility and engagement through better safety, education, and entertainment. As of this date, there has not been an appointment for the open position within the Village Board of Trustees. Some neighbors have reported that they were required to submit a letter of consideration which includes their qualifications, however, Village ordinance states ยง1-178 ELECTIONS; CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS. Any person seeking elected office in the Municipality shall be a registered voter prior to holding such office and in addition shall have reached the age of majority. (Ref. 32-4, 157 RS Neb.)
