Made possible in part by Community Sustaining Sponsor

Hello Alvo! It's been a couple of weeks with tumbleweeds in the wind, but we have been busy so let me get straight to it.

I have recieved several emails requesting access to previous Agenda and Meeting Minutes for our Village. I have sent an email requesting those files be sent to Raider, but as of the date of publication I have yet to get a response. I'll keep working on making that information accessible and in the meantime you can contact Raider at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for them as well. Myself and others are also working at getting the Planning Commitee Zoning and Regulations book to be available on our website, as well as an as complete as possible Ordinance book easily accessible.

Moving on, I'd like to talk about community involvement. Myself and other community members have been trying for some time now to get some degree of activities set up out here. We have started a group on Facebook last year that can be found here to begin to get community engagement. As Cathina Scheuth brought up during the meeting in July, we have a good number of children out here in our Village now and I'm sure we are all aware that there is not much out here for them to do publicly. Even though this issue has been brought to the Board and they have expressed interest in community events, this last Board meeting made it clear that they and our clerk refuse to assist in any sort of assistance with a community event savings account. As such, we have taken it upon on ourselves to create a Village association which we have named Alvo Community Involvement Association and are in the process of filing out the paperwork to be an official non-profit through 501c.

The purpose of the Alvo Community Involvement Association is to provide avenues for our communtiy to improve community sustainability and engagement through better safety, education, and entertainment. We encourage everyone to get involved in whatever capacity they are comfortable with be it volunteering, organizing, or donating as all proceeds will go back into community engagement and bettering the place we all call home. If you would like more information and to get involved, we have a Facebook page for that as well which can be found here. We have a few events planned with a few remaining details to be ironed out, but I expect to be announcing those next week.

Our little Village doesn't have much in the way of events but we do have one recently added to our calendar. Sarah Slattery, candidate for LD2, will be hosting a meet and greet at the Fall Hall with information below. Come meet Ms. Slattery, have dinner, and meet some new faces.

For now, I hope everyone enjoys the last little bit of summer before school starts. Please be safe out there, mind the speed limit, and stay hydrated.
