Former resident Ann (Walla) Wells, is still accepting writings for her scholarship. For those who do not know, Mrs. Wells intends to gift a $500 scholarship to a high school senior and resident of Alvo to be used for College, Junior College, Art School, or Trade School. The recipient does not need to have a certain grade point average, just a desire to continue their education or learn a trade. Also, to qualify the recipient would need to write about growing up in Alvo; the good, the bad, and the ugly, anything that applies to their circumstance and experience and send it directly to Mrs. Wells at This email address is being protected from spambots. Alvo residents who are registered voters should have received their mail-in ballots. If you have not, contact Linn Moore with the Cass County Elections Office. Alvo residents who are interested in registering so they can vote in the current recall election, the Nebraska Voter Registration Application must be completed and submitted in person to the Elections Office in Plattsmouth no later than February 8th for their vote to be valid in the recall election.
