Alvo Newsletter, May 21st, 2014

Hey everyone - my job just got easier! If you have something to rent, sell, swap, are looking for employees or you want something, you can now enter your information directly on this website and it will appear throughout Cass County. Explanation of how this works is on the Nebraska Community Web Site Classified Ads page - the link is just below.

For upcoming events, post early since your ads will be reviewed by my bosses before they appear, which may cause some delays. A quick word of advice - Use a spell checker and review before you post. It's FREE!

After a fairly long quiet spell, the emergency services activity picked up on the 20th - Two rescue calls; a fire call for Alvo to mutual aid Greenwood; Weeping Water, Manley, Avoca and Elmwood cooperated on a car versus rock truck collision along US 34.

You'll see this addressed later in my rant - I mean editor's take - we are forbidden by federal and state laws from giving out any information that would identify a patient, even if they aren't transported.

Days getting longer, but only a month until they start getting shorter.

We are looking for a few good people to start a library in Alvo - we need ideas, enthusiasm, money, a building, funds, books, and cash. Did I mention we need financing? Contact Karen at 402-781-2710 or email her at:

"Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open." - Laura Bush
