Fire Calls while I'm working on the newsletter

1220 Tuesday - Valparaiso - Field Fire

1115 Wednesday - Pleasant Dale - controlled burn rekindle from Tuesday

Thanks to Fire Chief Rick Koutecky, Assistant Chief Shon Olson, Fire Department Secretary Kelly Brown, EMT Kelly Anderson, Alvo Fire & Rescue Cadets Trevor and Trent Brown and the Chief's Chief, Lori Koutecky for the cleanup job Monday night. That's 14 people-hours donated to the community.

Thanks to Sentry Electric for bringing the Fire & Rescue Station generator back in service.

Just a reminder as we move into thunderstorm season - if you lose power at home, the Fire & Rescue station will have electricity and the backup generator for the Village wells will be started. Contact any Fire Department or Rescue Squad member if you have urgent need to power medical devices.

Library News

book pages turning

The village has been offered a mobile home converted to an office to place on the village lot (215 Main Street) for the community library. A foundation must be laid, siding added, water, sewer, and electrical service must be obtained. Beth Rose, Lori Koutecky and Karen Morgan are donating books. We are looking for donations of sweat, book shelves, a desk, chairs, books and money.

We truly need a Library Committee - Volunteers eagerly accepted. Apply at the Village Office on Saturdays or on line at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

This a great chance to improve our community.
