Better! - 82 counties have normal moisture; 5 are normal to abnormally dry, only 1 is abnormally dry, 2 are abnormally dry to moderate drought, 3 range from normal to moderate drought with abnormally dry areas as well. There are no severe drought conditions anywhere in our state. However - the southwest panhandle is facing long term abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions, meaning the dry spell lasts more than six months. Nationally Florida, Alaska, Tennessee, New York, West Virginia, Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New Jersey  - and the territory of Puerto Rico have normal moisture levels. Puerto Rico still has very little electricity and clean drinking water. Click on the image to see how Nebraska compares to other states.
