Cars, Trucks and Bikes filled a block of Main Street and the Alvo Municipal Park on Saturday. Mother Nature and the Nebraska Department of Roads cooperated for an excellent turnout that included several new entrants to join our long-term contestants. Mother Nature gave us a very pleasant day and the Department of Roads didn't tear up Nebraska 63 the day before the show - as has happened more than once in the past.
Measures of success - we used all the pancake mix (10 pounds), all the eggs (10 1/2 dozen), 22 of 24 pounds of Jimmy Dean sausage - and that was just for breakfast. Other measures of success - no need for the Fire Department to cool anyone down, the Rescue Squad to take anyone to an emergency room or the County Sheriff to quell the unruly.
And you thought the request to not decorate the tires was in jest - see below for some unusual visitors.
Left to right: Fontane - 4 1/2 year old Lab mix from Aurora Adopt A Pet; Dia - 2 year old Pit Bull from Hope Training & Rescue; Blaze - 7 year old Pit mix from Coalition for Pet Protection; Roscoe - 1 1/2 year old Pit Bull; Leah - 1 year old Pit Bull both from Hope Training & Rescue. They all have completed 2nd Chance Training and are looking for their forever homes. They have been abandoned by some less than human humans.
